Doula
Peace and Love:
It all started with a verbal manifestation: By time my sisters begin their parenting journeys, I will be a doula. After praying, manifesting, working, and waiting, the journey to becoming a doula began, and now, I am here to support you as your start your parenting journey.
I am Brittany— the daughter of Sharon, the daughter of Janice. I come from a lineage of women who were not gifted a divine labor of peace and intention that was—and still is— their birthright.
While my journey to being a doula has not been a straight path, it is the path that has led me here— to you. I have been an inner city educator and speech-language pathologist for the NYC Department of Education since 2019. However, I have known that children and motherhood were my passions since the days of my youth. As a Black Woman, I know that children and mothers of color face a system that was designed to disregard their well-being.
In keeping every promise I’ve made to my younger self and the women of my lineage, Doula for the Love was birthed. With a grateful heart, I accept all that God has entrusted me with, and I pray you feel the divinity and love that is the rooted in the foundation of this practice. My devotion is to the protecting of Black and Brown bodies.
This is God’s promise to me and my promise to you and the women who have birthed before us.
